Grade 7 Titanium (Ti Pd Alloy) is the most corrosion resistant of all currently available titanium alloys, this grade is especially well suited to applications requiring resistance to general as well as localized crevice corrosion. Beta Transus (F +/- 25) 1675.

Grade 7 Titanium has physical and mechanical properties equivalent to CP3 titanium or Grade 2. It has excellent welding and fabrication properties and is extremely resistant to corrosion especially from reducing acids. Grade 7 Titanium which is an unalloyed titanium grade with standard oxygen content and addition of palladium. The grade is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance in reducing and oxidizing environments and is typically used within, for example, the chemical industries.
Mechanical Properties
Grade | Tensile strength | Yield strength | Elongation | Reduction Min % |
Grade 7 | 345 | 275 | 20 | 30 |
Titanium outstanding corrosion resistance is due to the formation of a tightly adherent oxide film on its surface. When damaged, this thin invisible layer immediately reforms, maintaining a surface which is completely resistant to corrosive attack in sea water and all natural environments. Palladium (Pd) and Ruthenium (Ru), Nickel (Ni) and Molybdenum (Mo) are elements which can be added to the pure titanium types in order to obtain a significant improvement of corrosion resistance particularly in slightly reducing environments where titanium otherwise might face some problems due to insufficient conditions for formation of the necessary protective oxide film on the metal surface.

Grade 7 Titanium is mechanically and physically equivalent to Grade 2, except with the addition of the interstitial element palladium, making it an alloy. Grade 7 possesses excellent weldability and fabricability, and is the most corrosion resistance of all titanium alloys.
Titanium Grade 7 provides extreme resistance to corrosion in reducing acids, available forms include seamless pipe, welded pipe, seamless tube, welded tube, bar, wire, sheet, plate, forgings, pipe fittings, flanges and valves.
Titanium Grade 7/11/16/17 are all corrosion-resistant titanium alloys, their mechanic properties and prices are determined by the palladium content in these titanium alloys.
